The Spellman book series is about a family of Private Investigators who are not only intensely suspicious but also spends lots of time investigating one another. To complete the second Spellman novel, she moved back to Seattle and later on to San Francisco where she lived for some time. She, later on, moved to a relative’s place so that she could be able to work on the project full-time.


While still residing in California, Lutz began to work on the novel. Thus, she decided to write this story as a novel. It was at this moment that Lutz realized that the story needed more space so that it would be developed properly. Lutz’s final effort, The Spelman Files was rejected as well. However, none of these screenplays were selected for production. After completing her first screenplay, she then went ahead to produce several tentative screenplays.
